ChemCare's comprehensive waste management and disposal service eliminates the need for multiple waste management vendors. We provide easy access to seven waste management technologies through our network of approved treatment storage and disposal facility (TSDF) partners. All of our TSDF partners are pre-screened, and each partner location is subjected to environmental and financial audits at regular intervals. |
|
ChemCare will help you evaluate your waste streams, determine disposal and TSDF options (and the associated costs), comply with environmental and regulatory requirements, and more. We also offer detailed waste management reports in a variety of formats. |

RECYCLE/REUSE
Recycling involves processing used materials into new products in order to prevent waste of potentially useful materials. Reuse is the exchange of used materials from one company to another as product, not waste, where the materials can be used as-is in the manufacturing of useful products and services.
FUEL BLENDING
The fuel blending process uses high British Thermal Unit (BTU) waste streams as an alternative fuel to operate cement and aggregate kilns, boiler and industrial furnaces, or incinerators. Waste fuels must have a (BTU) value of at least 5,000 per pound to be considered for fuel blending.
INCINERATION
Incineration is the thermal treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste that involves the combustion of organic materials and/or substances. After incineration, ash and other hazardous waste residues are disposed in secure Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) landfills. Two common types of incineration are liquid injection incineration and rotary kiln incineration
WASTE TO ENERGY
A treatment technology that refers to the creation of energy in the form of electricity or heat from a waste source.
AQUEOUS TREATMENT
Aqueous treatment employs biological, physical or chemical treatment methods to eliminate or reduce the hazards of waste.
LANDFILL
A treatment technology involving the disposal of waste materials by burial. Landfill is the oldest form of waste treatment. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams are deposited into secure Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Subtitle D landfills. Secure RCRA landfills differ from municipal or sanitary landfills, which are intended for household and non-hazardous waste, these landfills are designed for the safe disposal of hazardous waste.
DEEP WELL INJECTION
A disposal method that involves injecting dilute aqueous wastes thousands of feet below the earth’s surface into porous geologic zones. These waters are permanently sealed between impermeable rock strata, hundreds of feet thick above and below the injection zone.
LAB PACKING
ChemCare offers lab packing services where small containers of various chemicals or wastes are classified, segregated, and repacked into larger containers for shipping. The containers are labeled, manifested, and transported to an appropriate disposal facility.
ON-SITE SERVICES
ChemCare offers a variety of on-site services, depending on the needs of the customer. We have performed everything from small jobs involving the proper packaging and labeling of containers for shipment at a customer site, to turn-key operations during large facility maintenance shutdowns.
TRANSPORTATION
ChemCare’s transportation and warehousing infrastructure and broad knowledge of chemicals and hazardous materials handling allows us to consolidate shipments of less than truck load (LTL) waste quantities. Then, we build, stage and ship truckload quantities to our partner TSDFs. Univar USA is equally skilled and cost efficient at accommodating the needs of large waste generators.
WASTE MINIMIZATION
Waste minimization is a national policy that was first articulated by the U.S. Congress in the 1984 Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) and means reduction of any solid or hazardous waste that is generated or subsequently treated, stored, or disposed of. ChemCare works diligently to assist in the process of minimizing the disposal of hazardous waste both for our own company, as well as our customers. |
